We are looking for a dedicated Electrical Technician to join our client's team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining plant and equipment, ensuring optimal performance and reliability. You will work in a dynamic environment where efficiency, quality, and safety are paramount.

Key Responsibilities:

Health and Safety: Adhere to company Health and Safety policies and HSE regulations. Prioritise personal safety and that of colleagues.

Maintenance and Repairs: Troubleshoot and repair PLCs, drives, and other electrical control systems. Conduct preventive and scheduled maintenance and make modifications to plant and equipment as required.

Documentation: Complete necessary documentation, including automation/controls change control, daily logs, and job reports.

Training and Collaboration: Train and assist colleagues and contractors. Liaise with operations to prioritise breakdown repairs and handle ad-hoc requests.

Stakeholder Interaction: Develop strong working relationships with both internal colleagues and external partners, such as contractors, suppliers, and customers.

Flexibility: Be adaptable to various tasks and changes in a fast-paced environment and maintain a flexible approach to working hours.

Additional information:

  • The role involves working at heights, in confined spaces, and in dusty environments.
  • Must be able to work independently and as part of a multi-skilled maintenance team.
  • Flexibility with working hours is required.

Person Specification:

Qualifications: Relevant engineering qualifications, ideally ONC/OND in Electrical Engineering. 17th Edition IEE Wiring Regulations and working knowledge of control systems and principles.

Experience: Experience with large material handling equipment and working with plant and equipment. Knowledge of effective maintenance strategies, such as RCM, PM, CBM, and TPM.

Skills: Excellent fault-finding, problem-solving, and communication skills. Ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Certifications: Must hold a full UK driving licence. Ideally, be a working AP(LV) under HBT electrical safety rules or willing to undertake necessary training. Experience with SCADA, Siemens, and PLCHNC/HND Electrical Engineering is desirable.
