Science teacher - Barry

This position is five days a week, full time, and is open to ECTs as well as experienced teachers.

You will be required to become fully involved within the department & school, like a permanent member of staff, and attend departmental meetings when required, and be available for parents' evenings as well as planning and delivering captivating, high standard lessons that will stretch the pupils in their learning. You will also be required to mark the work and provide feedback along the way, in tandem with AfL.

The staff have high expectations of the pupils in terms of work and behaviour. The school have built an environment of trust between the staff and pupils, resulting in tolerance and acceptance of other peoples differences. Pupils benefit from many opportunities to develop their leadership, for example by becoming a form voice advocate or subject ambassador. Pupils learn about democracy through the pupil parliament. They gain valuable experience of working with the community.

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS:

Degree educated with a good classification, preferably

Secondary QTS (PGCE, SCITT, B.Ed, QTS, etc) in Science

Previous experience working with young people (which we can reference)

Experience of teaching in a Secondary School (which we can reference)

Up to date Safeguarding training issued in the last year (essential, we can provide the training)

Up to date Prevent awareness training issued in the last 3 years (essential, again, we can provide the training)

Up to date behaviour management & FGM training (essential, however, training can be provided).

TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST:

Hold Right to Work in the UK

Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application at a cost of GBP45.80.

Provide a minimum of two professional references.
