We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate ALN Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join our team and work within a Special Resource Base (SRB) class in a Primary school in Barry.

Role Overview:As an ALN LSA, you will be working within a supportive team to assist a class of 10 pupils, each with a diverse range of needs. Your key responsibilities will include supporting the day-to-day classroom activities, promoting emotional well-being, assisting with personal care tasks, and helping students achieve their individual learning goals. You will work closely with the class teacher and two other LSAs to provide tailored support for each pupil, ensuring a safe and inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support a class of 10 pupils with a variety of ALN and behaviour challenges.

  • Work alongside the class teacher and other LSAs to deliver individualised support.

  • Assist with the emotional well-being of students and help them develop essential life skills.

  • Support students with personal care tasks where necessary.

  • Help implement and monitor individual learning plans (ILPs) for students.

  • Foster a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment for all pupils.

Essential Qualifications and Skills:

  • Proven experience working within a Primary School setting, ideally with children with ALN and behavioural challenges.

  • Strong understanding of the different needs of children with ALN, including social, emotional, and behavioural support.

  • Experience working with students who require additional support in their learning and development.

  • Must hold an enhanced DBS check.

  • Must be registered with the Education Workforce Council (EWC).
