Office Assistant

Location: Bartley SO40 2LH (On-site based position)

Salary: £11.50 - £12.50 per hour

Hours: Part Time, 20-25 hours per week

Our client, founded in 2022, is a privately owned, independent analytical laboratory based in Bartley near Southampton, Hampshire, UK. They specialise in the analysis of Dioxins/Furans, PCBs, PFAS (including PFOS and PFOA testing), and other Persistent Organic Pollutants in environmental samples such as soil, ash, sediment, sludge, and water (effluent, surface, and ground).

The Role

As an Office Assistant, you will be responsible for a variety of day-to-day office tasks, including:

  • Responding to customer emails
  • Logging samples into the system
  • Creating Excel and PDF reports
  • Scanning and organising documents

Skills and Qualifications

  • Strong organisational skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritise and adapt to changing demands
  • Excellent listening skills and a good short-term memory
  • Ability to work independently, with self-motivation and initiative
  • Problem-solving skills—able to identify issues and resolve them through administrative processes or by consulting the relevant people
  • Good writing and communication skills, able to clearly articulate problems and solutions to both internal teams and customers
  • Competency with IT, including proficiency in Word, Excel, and email platforms
  • Effective time and project management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines
