Assistant Accountant - Laindon/Basildon - Basic to £45k

Your new companyHays Accountancy & Finance is delighted to be partnered with a growing business based in Laindon, Essex, in a purpose-built design, engineering andHeadquarters building with 80 employees at this site. Most of their business is the supply of filling and packaging lines for aerosols, mainly for the pharmaceutical and cosmetic industries. Your new roleThey are looking for an Assistant Accountant to work closely with their Head of Finance and Accounts Clerks on a mixture of both routine and ad-hoc tasks covering all aspects of the finance function. Day tasks include:- General ledger management, including processing journals and reclassifications- Balance Sheet reconciliations including Fixed Asset register maintenance- Assist with the preparation of the Management Accounts- Produce monthly reports for internal and external projects- Bank reconciliations and cashflow reporting- Assist with production of annual budgets and forecasts- Assist with the operation of the Time and Attendance system- Assist with the annual audit process- Assist in developing their new ERP system- Provide occasional cover for sales and purchase ledger work- Additional ad hoc projects and reportsWhat you'll need to succeed- Part qualified ideally - ACCA/CIMA/ACA or QBE- Strong double entry bookkeeping knowledge is essential- Strong IT skills (MS Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel), in particular proficient in Excel- Excellent communicator, both verbal and written- Strong attention to detail- Highly organised with a logical approach to challenges- UK Tax knowledge helpful- Previous use of Microsoft Business Central or similar would be helpfulWhat you'll get in return£40k - £45k base salary.Great environment, supportive culture.What you need to do nowIf you're interested in this role, click 'apply now' to forward an up-to-date copy of your CV, or call us now.If this job isn't quite right for you, but you are looking for a new position, please contact us for a confidential discussion about your career.
