We are seeking an experienced Inside Sales/Business Development Manager with a strong background in sea and/or air freight. This role is ideal for a proactive individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is skilled at fostering robust client relationships and driving business growth.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:- Develop new business opportunities by identifying prospects, evaluating their position in the industry, researching, and analyzing sales options.
- Establish contact and develop relationships with prospects; recommend solutions that align with their needs.
- Maintain relationships with clients by providing support, information, and guidance; recommend new opportunities and service improvements.
- Stay current on industry trends, market activities, and competitors to identify product improvements or new products.
- Prepare detailed reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information.
- Maintain quality service by establishing and enforcing organizational standards.
- Manage and interpret customer requirements to understand, anticipate, and meet their needs.
- Negotiate tender and contract terms to meet both client and organizational needs.
- Calculate client quotations and administer client accounts.
- Provide pre-sales technical assistance, product education, and after-sales support services.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in inside sales or business development, specifically within the sea and/or air freight industry.
- Demonstrated ability to drive the sales process from plan to close.
- Strong business acumen and industry expertise.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to perform complex calculations related to logistics and freight without the use of software.
- High degree of self-motivation and ambition, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- A solid technical background with understanding and/or hands-on experience in freight forwarding and logistics solutions.
- Competitive salary range of £30,000 - £45,000 + Commission - commensurate with experience.
