Overview

Our client is seeking a dedicated and experienced Bookkeeper to join their finance department. As a Bookkeeper, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with regulations, and supporting the overall financial health of the organization.

Responsibilities

-Perform day-to-day bookkeeping tasks, including recording financial transactions, maintaining accurate ledgers, and reconciling accounts.

-Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations.

-Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports.

-Prepare and pay staff expenses, including Amex reconciliation.

-Set up bank payments and maintain the purchase ledger.

-Monitor mailboxes for accounts payable and assist with regulatory returns.

-Conduct bank reconciliations and provide support during audits and tax preparation.

-Stay up-to-date with industry trends and changes in accounting regulations.

-Act in accordance with Consumer Duty Rules and adhere to The Conduct Rules outlined by the FCA.

-Complete any training and professional qualifications required for the role.

Qualifications

-Proven experience in bookkeeping and accounting.

-AAT Qualified to an appropriate level.

-Ideally, 5 years of bookkeeping experience.

-Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.

-Proficiency in relevant accounting software such as Sage and Iris.

-Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with clients and team members.
