Sonic Summary

Reed’s engineering and manufacturing specialists are seeking an Electrical Design Draughtsman for a role in Basildon.
The position involves transitioning drawings from AutoCAD to EPLAN and generating electrical designs and documentation.
Candidates should have a formal Electrical Engineering qualification and ideally possess in-depth knowledge of EPLAN P8 and Pro Panel 3D.
Experience in a project environment with cross-functional teams is also desirable.
The salary for this position is competitive, and applicants should have a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.

For over 60 years, Reed’s engineering and manufacturing specialists have been recruiting professionals like you for permanent, temporary and contract positions.We are currently working with an organisation in Basildon who are looking to hire an Electrical Design Draughtsman.

Responsibilities:

- Assisting with the ongoing drawing transition from AutoCAD to EPLAN, working with the rest of the Automation Department to agree on methods of working and drawing standards

- Generating electrical drawings and panel Layouts, with supporting electrical documentation (Bill of Materials, Component Lists, Cable Schedules, Terminal Rail Layouts etc.)

- Ensure all electrical drawings are updated promptly throughout the lifecycle of the project and shared with all relevant departments

- Maintain a database of preferred electrical devices to ensure consistency in functional hardware from project to project

Skills & Experience Required:

Essential

- Formal Electrical Engineering Qualification (e.g. apprenticeship) Desirable

- In-depth knowledge of EPLAN P8 and Pro Panel 3D is a necessity

- An EPLAN Certified Engineer (ECE) qualification

- Familiarity with Automated production machinery or other similar capital equipment

- Has worked in a project environment in cross-functional project teams
