Finance Manager

We are seeking a Finance Manager to play a crucial operational role within our organisation. This position involves overseeing end-to-end finance operations, including budgeting, cash flow management, and ensuring financial accuracy and regulatory compliance to support business performance.

Day-to-day of the role:

Financial Operations & Accuracy:
- Oversee balance sheet reconciliations, accruals, prepayments, and financial reporting to ensure accurate financial records.
- Manage payroll processing in compliance with HMRC regulations.
- Handle VAT returns, tax filings, and ensure adherence to financial regulations.
- Maintain control over the sales ledger and purchase ledger to ensure accuracy and timeliness in financial transactions.
Cash Flow & Financial Planning:
- Monitor and manage working capital to optimise cash flow and ensure sufficient liquidity for operations.
- Assist in preparing accurate budgets and financial forecasts to aid strategic decision-making.
Risk & Compliance Management:
- Lead internal and external audit processes, acting as the key point of contact to ensure financial integrity.
- Implement controls to identify and mitigate financial risks, preventing errors, fraud, or non-compliance.
Process Improvement & Efficiency:
- Streamline accounting, reporting, and reconciliation practices to enhance financial processes.
- Develop robust financial controls to maintain accuracy and compliance.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

ACA, ACCA, CIMA Qualified (or Finalist), or AAT Qualified with sufficient experience.
Strong knowledge of UK GAAP, IFRS, and HMRC compliance.
Proficient with finance software, preferably Sage.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in finance, ideally within SMEs with a turnover of £5M-£10M.
Expertise in budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, VAT, payroll, and financial reporting.
Excellent stakeholder management skills, capable of working closely with CEOs and directors.
Proven track record of improving financial processes and systems.
