Job Role:Â Lead a small team of buyers in a busy purchasing department. Provide accurate costing proposals for new quotes, focus on new product introduction, and ensure timely delivery of stock components. Collaborate with various departments to meet factory requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Negotiate supplier prices and delivery quotations.
- Manage purchasing for strategic customers.
- Support commercial negotiations for new projects.
- Analyse data to determine the best purchasing options.
- Ensure data integrity in the MRP system.
- Assist in day-to-day buying activities.
- Recruit, train, and develop team members.
- Set department goals and support business improvement projects.
- Present data for Group and local KPIs.
- Represent the department in management meetings.
- Ensure procedures are up-to-date for QA audits.
Skills & Experience:
- Supply chain management and purchasing experience in the electronics industry.
- Minimum 5 years as a senior buyer.
- ERP system knowledge, preferably Factory Master.
- Leadership and management skills.
- Strong organisational, numerical, and analytical skills.
- Problem-solving and initiative.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Resilience and agility in overcoming purchasing hurdles.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure.
