About the Role:
My client, a 5 Star National House Builder based in Essex, is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their team in Q1 2025. Due to impending workload through the first quarter of 2025, they are likely to be looking to recruit Quantity Surveyors in Kent and Essex. These positions offer competitive salaries, plus an attractive benefits package.
Purpose of the Role:
You will be responsible for overseeing project cost control, managing risks and opportunities, administering subcontractor agreements, conducting viability assessments, and preparing and forecasting project budgets to ensure financial accuracy and project success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Regularly attending sites, to provide assistance and support to site staff, including meetings with sub-contractors
- Assisting in the preparation of the sub-contract/supplier enquiry lists for approval.
- Preparing full enquiry packs and collating all tender information, ensuring fully compliant tender
Person Specification:
- Experience in managing costs and contracts for residential projects, from large-scale developments to smaller, bespoke housing projects.
- Experience in preparing cost estimates, tender documents, and procurement strategies specific to the house building sector is critical
- High-level attention to detail for reviewing bills of quantities, contract documents, and final accounts
- A degree in Quantity Surveying.
- Experience of building construction in a quantity surveying or project managing role.
- Computer literate.
- Ability to work to tight deadlines.
