Project / Capital Accountant

Basingstoke based with hybrid working

Venture Recruitment Partners are delighted to be supporting a fast-paced international brand in the recruitment of a Qualified Accountant to join their Capital Accounting team which is responsible for over 1000 live projects globally.

As the Project / Capital Accountant you will be focusing on a UK entity with the goal of building and maintaining strong relationships with key business stakeholders, maintaining all financial controls and systems within your role, recommending potential operational efficiencies and improvements to working practices and procedures.

Key responsibilities:

  • Ensuring accounting Policy compliance and controlling the integrity of the Global Fixed Assets register.
  • Complete balance sheet reconciliations, including assets under construction projects and liaise with balance sheet owners as necessary.
  • Prepare Financial reports and ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Management of compliance with IFRS16 regulations.
  • Ensures compliance with accounting and tax statutory requirements.
  • Produce information to support the preparation of Audited Financial Statements.
  • Ensure department SLAs are met and KPIs are achieved or exceeded.
  • Managing Fixed Assets journal processing through working with site & finance teams, ensuring system of accounts and records are properly maintained.
  • Stakeholder management, including providing forecasting of Fixed Asset Register depreciation/balance sheets.
  • Champion and implement new processes through continuous improvement and innovation.

About you:

  • Fully qualified ACA, ACCA or CIMA.
  • Good experience of project accounting or fixed assets or IFRS16 – ideally a combination of 2 or 3 of these!
  • Experience in process improvements is preferred
  • A desire to mentor 1 team member
  • Evidence of building and maintaining strong relationships with key business stakeholders.
