Financial Controller - About the Role

In this position, you will play a crucial role in financial control, reporting, and management of an established finance team, reporting directly to the Group Finance Director. Ideally, the successful candidate will be available to commence this role at the beginning of March 2025.

Key responsibilities include managing a finance team that encompasses both transactional functions and financial accounting. The team currently consists of 15 members. You will be responsible for reporting under IFRS and UKGAAP, ensuring accurate and timely period closings, comprehensive analysis, and performance monitoring.

Additional responsibilities include preparing statutory accounts and serving as the primary contact for the annual audit, managing operational finance which includes balance sheet reconciliations, and ensuring accurate reporting to VAT, tax, and other regulatory bodies. You will also oversee rolling cash forecasting and monitoring and manage overdue debt through effective actions delegated to the Accounts Receivable and credit team.

The Successful Financial Controller Will Have:

  • - Formal qualifications such as ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CA, or equivalent
  • - Extensive experience in financial accounting and control
  • - Proven team leadership and development skills with formal managerial responsibility
  • - Experience in business process reengineering
  • - Proficiency in ERP software
