This is a strategic role and it is expected that the appointed Commerial Manager will form part of the organisations succession plan to take over as Divisional Commercial Director in five years time.
The role Commercial Manager will be manage a Quantity Surveying team collectively responsible for the successful delivery of a portfolio of projects valued at £60M per annum.
Working as part of a strategic partnership schemes will include sub-station builds and major cable routing projects across the region.
This is a hybrid working role.
- The Role
- Reporting to the Commercial Director the Commercial Manager will be responsible for the following:
- Leading a commercial team on a series of projects throughout Berkshire, and Hampshire
- Developing and managing project commercial strategy;
- Supervising project cash flow and supervision of the submission of interim applications;
- Supervising preparation towards project final accounts.
- Effective management of risk and opportunities;
- Providing contractual, financial and commercial advice to the project team;
- Managing and checking all contract arrangements to and from the client and sub-contractors.
- Drafting appropriate contract documents and preparing necessary commercial reports;
- Oversee the reporting on the project financial position including monthly cost value reconciliations and project forecasting.
Experience and Skills Required
- Previous experience on NEC projects would be beneficial
- Experience in working with large civil engineering projects preferred
- Previous employment with large Tier 1 contractor will be beneficial
- You must have excellent interpersonal skills
- Excellent organisational skills and ability to adhere to strict deadlines
