Venn Group are supporting an Academy within an educational trust based in Basingstoke with the recruitment of a Personal Assistant on an interim contract (with the potential to go permanent).

The post holder will provide comprehensive support to the Business Manager; enabling them to perform their administrative, financial, and operational tasks efficiently and effectively.   

The role involves proof reading emails, organise diaries, note-taking, time management and facilitation of effective communication between the Business Manager and other staff members.

Hourly Rate: £20 - £21

Working hours: Term time only, 33 hours a week (fully onsite)

Location:  Basingstoke

Job Profile:

  • Assist with drafting, proof-reading, and responding to emails and other communications
  • Manage the Business Manager’s schedule, meetings, and deadlines, ensuring effective time management
  • Prepare, format, and proofread documents, reports, and presentations to required standards
  • Support meetings by taking notes, summarising discussions, and ensuring materials are prepared
  • Assist in prioritising tasks and workload to meet the needs of the school and trust
  • Facilitate clear communication between the Business Manager and staff, using preferred communication methods
  • Support professional development by organising training and development activities
  • Maintain confidentiality, act with integrity, and uphold the Trust’s ethos and policies

Person Specification:

  • Strong awareness and commitment to safeguarding children
  • Minimum of 2 years' relevant experience
  • Proven commitment to continuous professional development
  • Excellent numeracy, literacy, and analytical skills with meticulous attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritise, plan, and meet deadlines effectively
  • Strong problem-solving and organisational skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to engage with a range of stakeholders
  • Holds a current Enhanced Child and Adult DBS (desirable)
  • Experience in preparing and presenting financial reports (desirable)
  • Knowledge of school administrative and accounting systems (e.g., PS Financials, Arbor, GDPRiS, Edupay) (desirable)
