Job PurposeTo plan all non-project work orders & purchase orders for production and procurement.
Duties and key responsibilities* Generate and analyse the appropriate reports to determine production capacity.* Receive customer orders and enquiries from the Sales Department.* Raise work orders & purchase orders to agree delivery dates in line with customer requirements and available production capacity in line with TOC.* Return customer orders and enquiries to the Sales Department.* Generate and distribute works orders on a weekly basis.* Advise on make or buy decisions to minimise customer lead times.* Place orders on "virtual workcentres".* Develop the visual workcentres as we purchase planning modules.* Provide cover for other members of the planning & procurement team.
Qualifications * NVQ Level 3 / HND level qualifications desirable but not essential if time served as a materials or production planner.
Experience* Previous materials or production planner experience in a manufacturing environment essential.* Knowledge/experience of importing desirable.
Knowledge & Skills* The ability to follow procedures in an accurate and timely manner.* Communication skills.* Project management skills.* Planning & co-ordination skills.
