Mobile Plant Operations Technician/Operator near Basingstoke

Are you a reliable and trustworthy individual seeking a dynamic role with variety and opportunities for growth? Join a leading company as an Operations Technician, working on innovative equipment and travelling to various sites across the UK.

The Role

This is an interesting and varied position that involves:

  • Operating and maintaining mobile processing equipment at multiple locations, with a solid understanding of electrical and mechanical equipment.
  • Working 10 days on / 4 days off from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
  • Undertaking 10-day overnight stays (all expenses covered).
  • Driving a company-provided van and fuel card

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, operate, and maintain mobile processing plant.
  • Optimise machine settings to achieve desired results.
  • Provide support to Service Engineers on-site or in the workshop.
  • Supervise and train subcontractors and new employees upon completing training.
  • Follow risk assessments and method statements before starting work.

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who is:

  • Experienced in plant operations: Familiar with mechanical and electrical equipment.
  • Independent: Capable of working unsupervised, sometimes in remote locations.
  • Flexible: Adaptable to changing shifts and customer needs, including night shifts.
  • Customer-focused: Strong communication skills and the ability to build trust and respect with clients.
  • Motivated and organised: Proactive in learning and problem-solving.

Requirements

  • Process industry experience (advantageous but not essential).
  • Willingness to work away from home for up to 10 days (depending on shift).
  • A valid manual driving license (preferably clean).
  • Forklift and/or telehandler license (desirable but not required).

Working Hours & Pay

  • Shift patterns: 10 days on / 4 days off (6:00 AM - 6:00 PM).
  • Overtime: Paid at 1.5x (Mon-Sat) and 2x (Sundays & Bank Holidays).
  • Competitive salary: Starting at £25k, increasing to £29k after achieving objectives.

OTE (On Target Earnings):

  • Up to £48k for 10 days on / 4 days off.
