Location: Basingstoke

Schedule: Permanent, Full time.

• Monday - Thursday 7.30am - 4.30pm.
• Friday - 7.30am - 2.00pm.

Our client is a well-established precision engineering company, who specialise within the design and manufacturing of high precision components. Due to continued growth, our client is now seeking a dynamic and knowledgeable Senior Quality Inspector to join their team.

Role overview:

Our client is seeking the right candidate with the right experience who will fulfil the role as a dynamic leader, this person will oversee the Inspection team by leading by example and developing the team into a quality conscious, precise and meticulous department.

Required knowledge, skills and abilities:

• Confident in the use of hand measurement tools.
• Proficient in CMM programming, preferably Mitutoyo.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and have knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing.
• Quality control preferably AS9100.
• Meticulous attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Methodical & process driven.
• Excellent time management.

Main duties/ Responsibilities:

• Inspection of precision parts using measurement equipment and CMMs to ensure accuracy of dimensions and tolerances stated upon drawings and routings.
• Perform routine visual and dimensional inspection and check for surface defects, cleaning, chipping, etc.
• Compiling, completing & checking accuracy of documentation relating to products, these could include but not limited to: Routings, CMM reports, Certificate of Conformities (CofC's), First Article's (FAIR's), customer quality assurance documentation.
• Complete NCR's when necessary and support 8D process.
• Programme, manage and operate the Mitutoyo CMM.
• Maintain calibration system ensuring it's up to date at all
• Participation in regular audits to maintain standards and preserve AS9100 certification.
• Work with the production teams to encourage and ensure all documentation is complete.
• Manage the inspection team i.e. delegate and assign tasks to maintain efficiency, ensure policies, procedures & processes are followed, proactively train the team, motivate, resolve conflict, conduct one-to-ones etc.
• Investigate quality issues, work to rectify and implement change to promote continuous improvement.
• Support the Production Manager, Technical Manager and Production Staff on quality related issues.
• Assist the senior management team on customer calls regarding quality issues.
• Report to the Production Manager ensuring open and proactive communication.
• Any additional duties as required by the Production Manager.
