Mane are looking for a QS to join their client, a leading M&E Contractor working on projects in and around the Newnham area.

As a Quantity Surveyor, you will work under the guidance of the Commercial Manager and be responsible for:

  • Overseeing the commercial aspects of projects
  • Preparing and submitting monthly applications for payment (AFP).
  • Managing project variations and general change management.
  • Monitoring and analyzing monthly cost reports to produce month-end reports.
  • Attending meetings to progress or finalize project accounts.
  • Identifying, reviewing, and mitigating commercial and contractual risks.
  • Gaining familiarity with standard contract forms, including NEC3 and JCT.
  • Negotiating subcontract terms and conditions with clients and contractors.
  • Drafting subcontracts, valuing subcontractor work, and certifying interim and final payments.
  • Enhancing cash flow through effective control, measurement, valuation, invoicing, and cash collection.
  • Receiving training and support to aid in your professional development.
  • Reporting directly to the Commercial Manager.


Key Skills and Qualifications:

  • Relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying (Degree, HNC, or NVQ preferred).
  • 2 years of experience preferred, but candidates with relevant experience or qualifications will also be considered.
  • Understanding of electrical systems is beneficial but not required.
  • Strong IT skills, especially in MS Office, with a focus on Excel.
  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative team attitude.
  • Effective time management skills.
  • Methodical approach and proactive learning ability.
