An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Interim Financial Accountant to join a high-performing and supportive finance team in Bath. This role is available from mid to late January and will be integral in ensuring the smooth delivery of year-end reporting and audit processes during a busy period.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Year-End Accounts Preparation:
    • Prepare and review year-end accounts, ensuring compliance with IFRS and UK statutory reporting (FRS 101).
    • Oversee the creation and review of financial statements, disclosures, and consolidated accounts.
  • Audit Support:
    • Prepare detailed audit schedules and respond to audit queries in a timely and accurate manner.
    • Act as the key contact for auditors, ensuring all requests are handled efficiently.
    • Collaborate with the finance team to meet deadlines and deliver a smooth audit process.
  • Technical Accounting:
    • Manage the consolidation of accounts, including a European entity, under IFRS.
    • Prepare comprehensive consolidation notes for inclusion in financial statements.
    • Interpret and apply technical accounting standards to complex scenarios.
  • Financial Reporting and Compliance:
    • Ensure accurate and compliant statutory accounts are prepared for the UK and European entities.
    • Monitor compliance with internal controls and external regulatory requirements.
  • Team Collaboration and Support:
    • Provide additional expertise and hands-on support to the finance team during the year-end period.
    • Assist with ad-hoc financial reporting tasks and ensure seamless collaboration across the team.

Requirements:

  • ACCA/ACA-qualified accountant, ideally with a background in a Big 4 or reputable audit firm.
  • Extensive experience with IFRS disclosures and UK statutory reporting (FRS 101).
  • Proven track record in preparing consolidated accounts for multi-entity organisations.
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and adapt quickly.
  • A collaborative and proactive approach, fitting seamlessly into a supportive team environment.

Working Arrangements:
