Finance Administrator

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Finance Administrator, reporting to the Financial Manager in a fast-growing and successful cycling media business. 

The Finance team will support your development and training, and there is the potential for funded study support, including study leave. We also offer apprenticeships. This role is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking for career development in a finance role.

Working at Play Sports as a Finance Administrator will provide you with experience and exposure to the wider business. You will develop skills and experience across a broad range of finance activities; you will also have the opportunity to support process improvements as the business continues to grow and become more complex. 

Role And Responsibilities

  • Business expenses processing and communications 
  • Processing of E Commerce transactions   
  • Setting up new suppliers
  • Reconciling supplier statements and maintaining supplier communications  
  • Processing purchase invoices, ensuring invoices match purchase orders, are paid and queries are resolved in a timely manner
  • Raising sales ledger invoices, supporting with credit control and maintaining customer relationships
  • Reconciliation of revenue streams and matching costs
  • Support with queries sent to the finance email address, responding to queries in a timely manner               . 
  • Supporting finance management with the month-end process, including revenue recognition, cost analysis and other financial journals
  • Supporting Finance Manager to ensure we maintain a consistent control environment
  • Assisting with the year-end close and audit 
  • Other ad hoc tasks as required. 

Skills and Experience that will help you be a successful candidate

  • Looking to start or working towards a finance qualification (e.g. AAT)
  • Good Excel/Google Sheet skills
  • Good communication skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively within the finance team and across the wider business
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and use initiative
  • Experience in using accounting systems
  • Broad experience in finance activities
  • Ability to prioritise & time manage

Desirable Skills and Experience

  • Experience working in a media or business services environment
  • Experience in using Sage
  • Understanding of double entry
  • Proactive and supportive
  • Willingness to attend the office in order to perform your duties and collaborate with the wider business.
