Our client based in Somerset, manufactures aluminium extrusions for their own window and door systems. We are currently recruiting for a Trainee Machine Operator (Extrusion Operator), who will ensure that tools and machinery are cleaned correctly, using hand tools and a manual checklist.
Previous extrusion machine experience would be an advantage, although not essential asfull training will be provided. However, candidates must be reliable, self-motivated, conscientious and take pride in their work.
Key Responsibilities:
- Testing products to ensure they meet client expectations
- Set up and run the extrusion line to internal and customer specifications
- Material checks to ensure the right ingredients are used
- Cleaning and maintaining equipment and tools for optimal operation
- Monitor material levels and feed the machines
- Wrapping ready products
- Empty scrap bins
- Escalate any issues to the team leader

Join our clients thriving team and play a pivotal role in our state-of-the-art manufacturing environment. As a Extrusion Operator, your primary responsibility will be to configure tooling to meet precise moulding parameters and adhere to polyamide guidelines. Ensure the optimal functioning of moulding machines and associated extrusion equipment. You will also be required to look after a team of operators so any previous experience looking after a team would be advategous.
