Develop complex naval architecture of various commercial vessels as a Senior/Principal Naval Architect. About the Role: • You will lead multi-disciplinary teams to develop a suitable hull form, undertake lightship weight analysis for vessel structure, systems and outfit, determine the required propulsion system to meet the operational requirements using a combination of model test data and CFD methods.• Work with other team members to develop 3D render images to support tender submissions.• Carry out seakeeping assessments through model testing and analytically, undertake intact and damage stability assessment, and develop global structural arrangements.About You:• A degree, or equivalent in Naval Architecture or related disciplines.• Extensive experience in naval architecture, including hull design, stability calculation, weight calculation, performance prediction, model testing, seakeeping analysis, tank plan development and arrangement drawings.• Ability to use 2D/3D CAD (AutoCAD), and other specialist software such as Maxsurf. • Commercial awareness, understanding of project management, and team leadership skills. • Desirable: previous experience working on commercial vessels covering diverse hull form types, such as Crew Transfer Vessels, Service Operations Vessels, ferries, patrol boats, workboats etc. Key Information:• Role: Senior/Principal Naval Architect• Salary: Circa £50,000–£80,00- Dependent on Experience • Location: Fareham– Hybrid Working (Circa 3 Days a Week On-Site)Key Skills:Naval architecture, commercial vessels, CAD, team leadership Please note: Due to the nature of work undertaken by our client, incumbents of these positions are required to be British Nationals and undergo pre-employment screening, able to satisfy clearance criteria for UK Security Vetting to SC Level.Electus Recruitment Solutions provides specialist engineering and technical recruitment solutions to a number of high technology industries.
