Academics is looking for a dedicated Primary SEN Support Assistant to join a supportive and inclusive school in Bath. In this role, you'll provide tailored support to children with SEN, either on a 1:1 basis or within small groups, helping them engage with learning and develop key skills. The Role - Primary SEN Support Assistant

As a Primary SEN Support Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and the SENCO to support pupils with SEN in Bath, ensuring they can access the curriculum and thrive in the classroom environment.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide support to children with SEN, either 1:1 or within small groups, adapting strategies to meet their needs.
  • Assist with classroom activities, ensuring engagement and participation.
  • Implement IEP strategies in collaboration with the class teacher and SENCO.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment to support the children's development.
  • Encourage and support social interactions and positive peer relationships

Who We're Looking For:

  • Experience supporting children with SEN in a school, nursery, or similar setting (preferred).
  • OR a Psychology or Criminology graduate looking to gain practical experience in an educational setting.
  • A patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach to working with children.
  • A commitment to helping children with SEN thrive, both academically and socially. You must have an Enhanced DBS check on the Update Service or be willing to obtain one.
