Your new companyWe are recruiting for a well-known organisation who specialises in finding suitable accommodation for vulnerable and at-risk individuals. This includes people experiencing homelessness, escaping domestic abuse, adults with learning difficulties and people who need support after leaving prison.Your new roleAs a Temporary Supported Housing Worker, you will build trusting relationships with clients, providing person-centred housing support to help them maintain accommodation and prepare for positive move-on outcomes. You will also ensure clients understand their rights and responsibilities, engage with professionals, and manage their housing-related tasks. You will primarily be covering Bath and Salisbury, there also may be times when they'll be required in Trowbridge.Key duties include:
- Support a caseload of up to 10 clients, empowering them to identify strengths, set goals, and build confidence.
- Complete thorough sign-ups and ensure clients have a valid Housing Benefit claim.
- Facilitate collaboration with professionals such as mental health teams, social workers, and health providers.
- Monitor the health, well-being, safety, and security of the service and clients.
- Perform administrative tasks promptly and to a high standard using the case management system.
- Collect rents and service charges, managing arrears according to policies and procedures.
- The current rate of pay is £15.39p/h (inclusive of holiday).
- Working hours: Monday - Friday, 09:00 - 17:00. May vary to 08:00 - 16:00 on occasion.
- Initial 6 weeks of work but could develop into an ongoing temporary position or a permanent role.
What you'll need to succeed
- Experience working with people who have experienced homelessness or rough sleeping, in a paid or voluntary role, and/or personal lived experience of homelessness.
- Ability to work with people who may display challenging behaviour and to defuse potentially difficult situations.
- Solution-focused approach and capacity to work constructively, creatively, and collaboratively with others towards problem-solving.
- Knowledge and understanding of safeguarding issues and ability to address them appropriately.
- Willingness to engage in supervision, reflective practice, and self-care.
- Enhanced DBS.
