Our client is a Tier 1 UK wide national main contractor with an established reputation within the South West. Typical projects are between £20m and £100m in value across Commercial, Health and Education sectors on both new build and refurbishment projects,
Bid Writer - The Role:
A fantastic opportunity for an experienced Construction Bid Writer to join the pre-construction team based from the Exeterl office. This is more than a Propsals role and will require in depth construction pre-construction technical knowledge on new build construction projects across sectors.
You will be responsible for working as part of the tendering team and through liaison with estimators and Pre-Construction Manager understand how each party is approaching a particular project and draft a suitable technical support document for submission with the tender. You will also be required to coordinate the full submission document to ensure timely submission of tenders.
You must have a sound technical knowledge of construction specific terminology in addition to strong writing skills. The person must be able to work on their own initiative and should have been undertaking a similar role previously. You will be extracting technical information from various technical departments and articulating this information in a Bid Document to best represent the business,
Bid Writer - The Person
- You will have solid experience with either a national or regional main contractor within Construction (or construction related business)
- Demonstrable experience of delivering successful bid documents as part of a pre-construction team (visual and writing)
- Proven experience with meeting customer expectations in coordinating bid documents and technical writing.
- Able to pull together knowledge from various technical sources to best represent the business and answer tender documents.
- Innovative - ability to identify better ways of doing things
- A good communicator, able to liaise between different departments in order to achieve a common goal.
