Our client, a successful and expanding business, are looking to recruit a professional Accounts Assistant to join their friendly and dynamic team in Battle on a full-time basis.

As an Accounts Assistant you will be responsible for supporting the completions department manager in the provision of conveyancing and will work within a close-knit team.

Responsibilities as a Accounts Assistant

  • Dealing with Conveyancing files from exchange of Contracts through to Completion
  • Using a case management system to process and progress cases
  • Setting up and dealing with completions, inclusive of photocopying, scanning, faxing, Printing, filing and collating documentation in relation to contracts, leases and transfers
  • To ensure that all payments such as BACS, Bank Transfers, Faster Payments and cheques are set up correctly and Client Account is never allowed to overdraw, this includes setting up payments on the Bank
  • To create bills and statements for clients
  • To ensure that all authorised invoices are dealt with in a timely manner
  • To deal directly with Clients when receiving payment by cash or cheque
  • Providing general administration and organisation of paperwork to support conveyancing transactions
  • To manage own work allocation, productivity and quality of work with minimum supervision

Experience / Skills

  • Good communication skills with the confidence to liaise openly and clearly with colleagues and clients
  • The ability to produce a high standard of work, sometimes under pressure, whilst maintaining accuracy and good attention to detail
  • The ability to work under pressure and to strict deadlines
  • Working knowledge of computers and software with good keyboard skills
  • Practical experience of handling client enquiries both face to face and by telephone

Desirable:

  • Working knowledge of Conveyancing
  • Working knowledge of Accounts
  • Experience of working in a legal environment
  • Working knowledge of Solicitors Accounts Rules
  • Demonstrate a commitment to personal development

Job Title: Accounts Assistant

Location: Eastbourne

Salary: £26,000 per annum (Dependent on experience - flexible)

Full Time: Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 5:00pm
