Senior Quantity Surveyor

Are you an experienced Quantity Surveyor who excels at contract negotiation and value engineering?

Our client, who is a privately-owned, award-winning regional housebuilder is looking for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their Thames Valley region and be part of a successful team developing bespoke, high end properties in and around Buckinghamshire, Berkshire and North London.

The Role

As Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will:

  • Place contracts for all relevant subcontractor work on their developments
    • Prepare subcontract enquiries, send out for pricing and ensure that contracts are placed in line with the build programme
    • Produce a detailed trade specific scope of works and qualification notes for all enquiry documentation
    • Analyse subcontractor quotes and form a recommendation on who to appoint
    • Ensure standard terms and conditions are agreed with all orders/contracts placed
  • Manage subcontractor payments
    • Process stage payments to subcontractors when due
    • Ensure all contra charges are managed
    • Carry out checks for UTR status of subcontractors
    • Review and process variations in accordance with terms and conditions
  • Work in partnership with other teams to ensure key dates for the build programme are achieved
    • Check drawings to ensure the proposals are practical and commercially viable
    • Regularly attend project meetings on site
    • Provide cost advice for the sales team
  • Produce regular reporting
    • Compile full cost reports for each development, to include services, materials, sub-contract and prelim costs
