Role Overview:

Contract Scotland is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our client's team on a permanent basis. The successful candidate will be based in Inverness with occasional site visits as required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Control:
    • Maintain precise financial control systems, including monthly cost value reconciliations.
    • Timely certification and payment of valuations.
  • Contract Management:
    • Manage contract variations efficiently.
    • Accurately forecast cost and value across all trades.
  • Collaboration:
    • Collaborate closely with operational teams to secure necessary resources.
    • Ensure projects remain on schedule and within budget.
  • Site Oversight:
    • Oversee site progress, issuing required notices in accordance with contract procedures.
  • Quotation Vetting:
    • Vet quotations diligently, ensuring compliance with specifications and obtaining competitive bids.
  • Account Preparation:
    • Prepare meticulous final accounts.
    • Manage subcontractor accounts effectively.

Desired Skills and Qualifications:

  • Educational Background:
    • Relevant qualifications in Quantity Surveying.
  • Professional Experience:
    • Proven experience in a similar role, ideally within civil renewables or windfarm projects.
  • Organisational Abilities:
    • Strong organisational skills for managing multiple projects concurrently.
  • Technical Proficiency:
    • Proficiency with key cost-based software packages.
  • Interpersonal Skills:
    • Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills.
    • Adept at liaising with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Driver’s License:
    • Full UK driving license and own transport.
  • Willingness to Travel:
    • Willingness to travel as required.
