Field Technician

Field Technician within electrical and electronic engineering needed for my client based in Beccles, Suffolk. The clients field technicians work around the world on geotechnical and geophysical

projects and are a key part of our team.

Due to the expansion from the client, they require electronic/ electrical technicians with strong fault-finding skills, to maintain and operate the equipment at our Beccles workshop and globally.

This position will suit those with technical interests and hobbies and wanting to travel.

Field Technician Position Overview

• Ensuring that during mobilisation all equipment is installed with due regard for air circulation, vibration isolation and sea fastening, prior to final testing and sailing.
• Adhering to all statutory legislation and company policies pertaining to health and safety, including the wearing of personal protective equipment.
• Reviewing certifications on winches, lifting and electronic equipment for compliance with statutory legislation and company procedures.
• Assisting with winch operations and loading and unloading of equipment.
• Participating in toolbox talks, emergency drills and safety meetings.
• Completing risk assessments for equipment deployment, testing, operation and recovery.
• Completing equipment pre-use checklists and observer logs.

Field Technician Position Requirements

• Level 3/HNC/HND in electronics/ mechatronics.
• Knowledge of hydraulics, electronics, and troubleshooting techniques is highly desirable.
• Strong communication skills and social skills to work in teams and the ability to fault find independently in remote and challenging environments.
• Willingness to travel extensively and adapt to varying work schedules.
• Valid driver's license and passport with the ability to travel internationally as needed.
• Based within a commutable distance of Beccles, Suffolk.
• ENG1 medical and BOSIET survival required before commencing employment. Company can arrange for successful applicants.

Field Technician Position Remuneration

• Salary - 30,000 (OTEs + bonuses for working away can make salary go up from 45,000 to 60,000.
• Full time position.
