Full-time, permanent semi-senior accountant
We are supporting a long-established independent firm of accountants based in Bedford, who currentlyhave a vacancy for a permanent semi-senior accountant. The role is varied and will includeaccountancy and tax based work together with an element of auditing.
Role Description
. Preparation of year-end statutory financial statements for clients of various types andsizes from all manner of bookkeeping systems.. Assisting clients with their queries regarding bookkeeping procedures, accountsinformation, audit processes, internal systems and controls, etc.. Assisting Directors and client managers with ad hoc accounting/tax projects asrequired.. Dealing with relevant taxation aspects of clients.. Assisting with all stages of an audit including liaising with clients at their premises.
Knowledge and Experience
The ideal candidate will;
. Have at least two years accountancy and audit experience gained in a small to mediumsized practice and in a similar role.. Be a self-starter with excellent organisational skills.. Have excellent attention to detail and accuracy.. Have strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Xero, QuickBooks and Sage.. Be a clear communicator with excellent interpersonal skills with an ability to interact withstaff and clients.. Be able to work unsupervised using their own initiative.. Value teamwork, with a willingness to assist others at all levels.. Be able to maintain confidentiality and trust.. Have a proactive attitude with good problem-solving skills and a desire to learn.. Be working towards ACA/ACCA.
Job Offer
The role is 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday and in the centre of town with car parkingavailable. The Practice does offer both hybrid and flexible working arrangements to the rightcandidate after the successful completion of the probationary period.
The remuneration package is in the region of £25,000 to £35,000 (dependent uponqualifications/experience).
