About the Role:

Our client is seeking a dynamic Finance Business Partner to support the CFO. This role is crucial in assisting senior management with critical business decisions, optimizing systems and processes, and ensuring the company's continued growth and long-term success.

If you are an experienced and qualified management accountant with a passion for sustainability, excellent communication skills for conveying financial information to non-financial audiences, and strong digital proficiency, we want to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the CFO in partnering with senior management to make critical business decisions and strategic planning for growth and long-term success.
  • Collaborate with various departments to provide financial analysis that drives business performance.
  • Identify necessary financial information for management and effectively communicate financial data to non-financial managers.
  • Gather and analyze financial information for corporate accounting, including preparing and publishing timely monthly management reports with narrative and commentary on budgets, variances, and forecasts.
  • Assist with budgeting and funding activities.
  • Monitor spending and financial controls to ensure compliance and quality.
  • Conduct internal business audits and develop/document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and enhance internal controls.
  • Act as an MIS super user, empowering others to maximize value from MIS and suggesting updates and improvements for accounting systems.
  • Ensure management accounts are prepared according to a pre-set timetable.
  • Drive efficiency improvements based on margin enhancement.
  • Deputize for the CFO as directed by the CEO.

Required Skills:

  • Qualified accountant (CIMA or ACCA) with a background in manufacturing although part qualified/finalist level will be considered.
  • Significant, recent, and relevant experience as a management accountant in a commercial SME environment, with a thorough understanding of accounting principles and procedures.
  • Proficient in financial and accounting software, MS Office, and experience with MIS and/or ERP systems, with exceptional mathematical and business acumen.
  • Demonstrated ability to take responsibility for management accounting tasks, being both a strategist and decision-maker, highly organized, methodical, and adaptable to changing priorities.
  • Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills to liaise and influence various stakeholders, including employees, management, customers, suppliers, auditors, and other key stakeholders.
  • High level of reliability, honesty, and integrity.
