We are proud to be recruiting for a business which truly puts its people first. Our client is quickly becoming a one of the best automotive service and repair on all vehicles including trucks, commercial vans, cars and plant machinery.

Due to recently securing and renewing several multi-million pound contracts, our client is looking for an Assistant General Manager to assist senior management with the running of the site.

Key responsibilities for the Assistant General Manager include:

  • Performance manage the Operations & Admin Team, to ensure they carrying out instructions, as per protocol
  • To create a schedule of repeating tasks, and carry them out or oversee them, to ensure smooth operational running of the business, and to distribute them to admin staff to carry out
  • To assist the operations manager, where possible, preparing information and data for meetings which will be attended by yourself and used to manage mobile teams and repairs
  • Weekly management of the roadside engineer team, which is daily managed by roadside supervisor
  • Assist in preparing packs, paperwork and inductions of mechanical or operational staff
  • Actively engage in all areas of the business to reduce overlap, close loopholes or bridge gaps that may appear in processing as the business grows or staff change
  • To work alongside the commercial director, on project-based work, to investigate and model current business practices, costs and income, then make performance upgrades to reduce costs or increase margins where possible on a monthly basis
  • Responsible for the driver compliance, quarterly fleet insurance declarations, and storage of paperwork relating to company owned vehicles and operator licensing
  • Support the commercial director in managing health and safety, and scheduling inspections or repairs on workshop tools and equipment, alongside the MOT centre manager who is qualified for day to day oversight.

To be a successful Assistant General Manager, you will have minimum 4 years experience in a supervisory/management role within automotive industry. You will also have experience in managing performance of a team.
