Key Responsibilities:
Supporting the Head Chef and Catering Manager by overseeing daily kitchen operations.
Ensuring all dishes meet the highest standards of quality, presentation, and portioning.
Leading, training, and motivating kitchen staff to maintain a positive, productive work environment.
Assisting in food production planning, stock management, and processing orders.
Managing cleanliness and food safety across all kitchen areas.
Overseeing core dining services as well as hospitality events.
Ensuring financial targets are met within the kitchen, including GP management.
Creating staff rosters and ensuring smooth daily operations.
Health & Safety:
The successful candidate will be expected to follow all health and safety protocols, including food safety regulations and safeguarding procedures. Knowledge of how to report and escalate safeguarding concerns is essential.
Essential Requirements:
Strong cooking skills with experience in a similar role.
Excellent communication and leadership abilities to train and inspire a team.
Enhanced DBS clearance and eligibility to work with children.
Desirable Qualifications:
Experience managing financial targets in a kitchen setting.
NVQ Level 2 or 3 in professional cookery (or equivalent).
Basic or Intermediate food hygiene certification.
