What would I be doing as an Electrical Workshop Engineer?

  • Carrying out daily workshop duties building bespoke machinery and equipment including assembly and testing of components
  • Goods in inspection and goods out packaging and crating / palletising
  • Producing assembly kits for production
  • Carrying out installations of machines into customers premises, commissioning machines
  • Training operators on the machinery on customer premises when required
  • Breakdown assistance at customer premises and remote assistance to customers of components and equipment. (rarely)
  • Provide feedback to design engineers for improvements and modifications and any updates to drawings.

The qualifications and experience required to be an Electrical Workshop Engineer…?

  • Time served or other relevant qualification within Electrical Engineering
  • Experience working with heavy plant / industrial machinery
  • A background within the food manufacturing or packaging industry would be advantageous for this role
  • Proven experience reading and working from technical drawings to troubleshoot and repair faults
  • Electrically biased with sound mechanical knowledge
  • A Team player with a willingness to learn and undertake further training where required
