JOB PURPOSE:

  • You will be responsible for leading and managing a comprehensive Environmental Health, Corporate Health and Safety, Trading Standards, Licencing, Registration, Community Safety, Resilience and Flood Risk service.
  • Ultimately responsible for the ensuring statutory obligations are met and delivering a range of services that are first and foremost legally compliant and fully cognisant of the need to be up to date with the principles around better regulation, regulatory reform and legal precedent.
  • This post requires strong strategic planning, team leadership, process improvement, and maintaining a strong commitment to the needs of our organisation, community which includes businesses, licensee's, residents and partnership working (particularly in the areas of Community Safety, Resilience and Flood Risk).
  • Contribute to the development of the Corporate Plan and to implement the appropriate strategies through the effective management of staff, resources, performance, projects and risks. To deliver service improvements, efficiency savings and agreed outcomes for particular projects and service delivery/service level agreements.
  • Ensure service delivery is in line with statutory obligations, corporate aims and objectives with a strong bias towards being the service lead within the scope of the of the post.
