Role: Head of Finance
Location: Bedford
Hours: Monday to Friday pam – 5pm
Salary: Up to £65,000 depending on experience
I am looking for an experienced and proactive Head of Finance to lead a small finance team in a newly created position in a thriving business based in Bedford.

What will you be doing in the Head of Finance role?
- Overall responsibility of the Accounts Team
- Manage elements of the budgeting process, including monitoring, and reporting on financial performance
- Managing VAT returns
- Product Pricing analysis and decision making
- Provide financial analysis and insights to support decision-making at both strategic and operational levels
- Produce monthly management accounts and margin analysis
- Continuously improve and streamline accounting processes and procedures
- Liaise with external stakeholders such as financial institutions including banks, insurance companies, brokerage firms, our Dutch accountants and foreign exchange dealers
What we would like from you:
- Fully qualified Accountant (ACCA/ACA) or equivalent in experience
- Proven experience in a leadership role within a finance department
- Strong analytical, decision-making, and management skills
- Excellent knowledge of data analysis and forecasting methods
- Experience of accounting software and financial management systems
- MS Office Suite – particularly with Excel.
- Extensive experience of using Sage 50 including template and report writing
- Understanding of international trade, multi-currency accounting and VAT
