Your new company

My client is a dynamic acoustic and air quality consultancy providing services primarily to the residential sector, but with clients across various other sectors. They have 22 staff made up mainly of specialist acoustic consultants (16). They offer support from feasibility right through to planning approval and appeal if required.Your new role

  • Undertake noise surveys, in line with environmental acoustics regulations such as BS 4142, BS 5228.
  • Complete sound insulation testing for the purpose of Part E compliance.
  • Contribute to the acoustic input, data analysis, predictions, and 3D modelling on a range of projects; using CadnA, CATT, INSUL
  • Complete site visits to make acoustic measurements and observations.
  • Conducting noise and vibration assessments for a variety of projects.
  • Developing and implementing noise control strategies.
  • Preparing technical reports and documentation.
  • Liaising with clients, architects, and engineers to provide acoustic design advice.
  • Performing on-site measurements and data analysis.
  • Participating in project meetings and presentations.
  • Keeping up-to-date with the latest developments in acoustic technology and legislation.

What you'll need to succeedEssential:

  • A degree in Acoustics, Engineering, Physics, or a related field - ideally an IOA approved course.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Full UK driving license.

Desirable:

  • Membership of the Institute of Acoustics (IOA) or working towards it.
  • Accredited noise tester with the Association of Noise Consultants.
  • Experience in acoustic consultancy.
  • Proficiency in using acoustic modelling software.
