Our client is a highly respected social housing organisation based in Bedfordshire, and they are currently recruiting for a Hostel Coach on a 9-month fixed term basis to cover maternity leave.

This is a full time position 37 hours per week Monday to Friday and offering a salary between £24,000-25,500 per annum.

To apply candidates will need to have experience in similar roles, and hold and recently carried out Enhanced DBS check.

Duties of role are below:

  • Comprehensive delivery of the day-to-day running of the hostel provision and direct support service to customers  Work in a psychologically informed manner, coaching customers in a person-centred and non-judgmental way tailored to their individual needs
  • Manage a personal caseload by organising and conducting weekly support sessions, attending professional meetings, supporting customers at external appointments, and completing referrals to external services as necessary
  • Apply creative and practical solutions to provide the best possible support
  • Conduct assessments for new customers following referrals and devise/implement support and risk management plans
  • Manage arrears effectively, ensuring prompt resolutions
  • Assist customers with benefit claims and personal contribution charges, including setting up payment plans, benefit applications, and resolving benefit queries
  • Ensure the accommodation remains a safe and secure place for customers to live and staff to work
  • Support customers in learning independent life skills to enable a successful, planned move-on into the community
  • Carry out room checks with customers
  • Comply with health and safety by completing premises checks, fire drills, and reporting repair requests
