The ClientOur client is a leading and innovative community healthcare services provider. They specialise in supporting both primary and secondary care services, delivering high-quality Dermatology, ENT (Ear, Nose, and Throat), and Audiology services to patients referred from GP services and NHS Trusts.

The RoleAs a Clinical Healthcare Assistant, you will be integral to the smooth operation of Community ENT and Minor Surgery Clinics in Bedfordshire. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting ENT specialists and surgeons during consultations, examinations, and minor surgical procedures.
  • Preparing and maintaining clinical equipment, ensuring sterilisation and readiness.
  • Supporting patient positioning and draping during procedures.
  • Labelling specimen bottles accurately.
  • Assisting with patient preparation for procedures, including explaining processes and obtaining consent.
  • Providing post-procedural care and instructions to patients and their families.
  • Performing routine checks on medical equipment and reporting any malfunctions.
  • Collaborating effectively with the healthcare team, including doctors, nurses, and administrative staff.

The CandidateTo excel in this role, you must be compassionate and possess a patient-centered approach to care, maintaining a high level of professionalism and ethical conduct. The ideal candidate will have:

  • An NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care or an equivalent qualification.
  • Previous experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in ENT or minor surgery.
  • Up-to-date mandatory training, including Basic Life Support (BLS).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with electronic patient record systems and certifications relevant to ENT or minor surgery assistance is desirable but not essential.
