About the Role

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Computer Science Teacher to join our team on a maternity cover basis. This role will be responsible for delivering engaging and high-quality Computer Science lessons to students, fostering a stimulating learning environment, and ensuring students reach their academic potential. The successful candidate will have a passion for the subject, strong pedagogical skills, and the ability to inspire students of all abilities.



Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging Computer Science lessons to students across Key Stages 3, 4, and potentially Key Stage 5.
  • Create a positive learning environment that encourages student engagement and supports individual growth.
  • Monitor and assess students' progress, providing constructive feedback and support where needed.
  • Collaborate with other members of the teaching team to share resources and best practices.
  • Participate in department meetings, parents' evenings, and school events as required.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the Computer Science curriculum and emerging technologies.
  • Uphold school policies, including safeguarding, and contribute to the school's ethos and values.


Essential Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Proven experience teaching Computer Science at secondary level, ideally up to GCSE level.
  • Strong subject knowledge in Computer Science and familiarity with current curriculum requirements.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to adapt to a maternity cover role, quickly establishing rapport with students and colleagues.


Desirable Qualities

  • Experience teaching A-Level Computer Science is advantageous.
  • Ability to integrate technology effectively into teaching practices.
  • Commitment to professional development and staying updated with educational trends.
