Mixxos are recruiting for a unique opportunity with our client who are based in Silsoe, Central Bedfordshire. The role is brand new to the business and you will maintain the operational availability of all computer-related equipment and IT resources.

Our client is looking for someone to take on most of the IT related queries from internal staff, and to be part of automating processes and systems in the future.

Key Responsibilities for an IT Support Specialist:

  • Maintain the operational availability of all computer-related equipment and IT resources including laptops, desktops, printers, servers, data communication equipment, network infrastructure, telephone equipment.
  • Responsible for setting up, installing, operating, testing and troubleshooting all IT equipment.
  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance (physical checks, OS and software updates and patches, etc.) for all relevant IT Assets to ensure minimum downtime
  • Provide technical support and assistance during normal working hours and outside of normal business hours as required, including, but not limited to Saturday and Sundays.

Key Skills for an IT Support Specialist:

  • Excellent skills and knowledge with Microsoft applications, Excel / Word / Power BI / Power point and more
  • Excellent knowledge of technical management, information analysis and of computer hardware and software systems.
  • Advanced Excel Skills (e.g. Power Query, VBA Macros etc.)
  • Extensive experience with computer hardware, printers, smartphones and audio-visual communications equipment.
  • Desire to self-train and work on an additional training would be a positive trait for this role
  • Achieve results by prioritising workload, effective time management and showing efficiency with resources available
