THE TOOLING DESIGN ENGINEER ROLE:

As a Tooling Design Engineer, you'll be responsible for creating bespoke tooling solutions-jigs, fixtures, test rigs, and more-to support the manufacturing of specialist defence systems. You'll work across the full product lifecycle, from prototype to full-rate production, applying your CAD expertise and design-for-manufacture knowledge. You'll collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including production and industrial engineering to ensure cost-effective and high-quality tooling delivery.

TOOLING DESIGN ENGINEER ESSENTIAL SKILLS:

  • Proven experience in tooling design within a manufacturing environment
  • Strong CAD design skills using CREO; PDM experience with Windchill
  • Experience in CNC machining, composites, additive manufacturing, or similar
  • Ability to produce detailed technical drawings
  • Understanding of DFM/A and PFMEA principles
  • Confident generating BOMs, routings, and process documentation
  • SC Clearance Required
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset with a team-first attitude
