Education Lawyer

Permanent, full-time with significant remote working

Location: Bedfordshire

Our client, a large public body, is seeking a passionate and motivated Education Lawyer to join their Community Care and Litigation team. This role will be key to the providing exceptional legal service to SEN members of the community along with education matters generally, making a difference to the most vulnerable members of society.

About the role:

  • Provide professional legal service to a range of public sector and not for profit clients
  • Protect best interests of SEN and education clients ensuring awareness of legal duties
  • Ensure effective identification and awareness of risks within relevant legal practice areas
  • Attend client liaison meetings to discuss ongoing cases and provide reassurance of quality service
  • Build highly effective relationships and proved seamless and client focussed service

About you:

  • Qualified Solicitor, Barrister or CILEx
  • At least 2 years PQE, ideally in a Local Authority or public body
  • Knowledge of and ability to apply SEN and education related law
  • Previous advocacy experience
  • Knowledge of government law, especially in relation to education, judicial review, FOI/DPA
