Job Location: Hybrid (Minimum 2 days per week in Bedford)

Fox Morris Group, a preferred supplier to numerous local and national organisations, is thrilled to represent a well-established authority recruiting for a Senior Property Lawyer to lead their team of 4.

This senior role focuses on complex property transactions, team leadership, and strategic management of the Council’s property portfolio to ensure a high standard of legal services.

You will be expected to provide a high standard of work to the role.

Your role will / may also include working with:

  • Team Management: Oversee the daily management of four team members, ensuring efficient workflow and quality output.
  • Complex Property Matters: Lead high-level property transactions and advise on complex areas of commercial property law.
  • Income Generation: Identify and leverage opportunities to recover legal costs from third parties, aligning with Council income targets.
  • Documentation: Handle development projects, landlord and tenant law, property disposals and acquisitions, and high-level commercial conveyancing, including various statutory and non-statutory agreements.

Minimum Requirements for the Role

  • Qualifications: Admitted Solicitor or Barrister (England and Wales) with a current Practising Certificate, or Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives.
  • Experience: Significant post-qualification experience in commercial property law, ideally within the public sector, with a record of managing high-stakes property matters.
  • Management Skills: Proven managerial experience, with an ability to lead, allocate workloads, and meet deadlines.
