Walker Cole International is searching for a Procurement Manager to join a pharmaceutical manufacturing business in the East of England.
Your responsibilities as a Procurement Manager will be:
- Supplier Management & Risk Mitigation - Develop and manage a reliable supplier base for raw materials, ensuring supply continuity, quality compliance, and favorable terms while minimizing supply chain risks.
- Strategic Procurement & Cost Optimization - Implement strategies to drive cost savings, efficiency, and long-term supply stability, introducing new suppliers as needed in collaboration with technical teams.
- Inventory & ERP Management - Maintain optimal raw material stock levels to support production planning while ensuring accurate ERP system updates and data integrity.
- Team Leadership & Supplier Relations - Supervise and coordinate the RM team, fostering ethical practices, resolving supplier quality issues, and maintaining strong, long-term supplier relationships.
To be a successful candidate for the Procurement Manager you will have:
- BSc/MSc in relevant subject (Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Science).
- Proven experience in purchasing chemicals and managing suppliers.
- Industry experience in Pharmaceuticals or Medical Devices.
- Use of ERP based purchasing systems.
