Junior Office Assistant

Location: Kempston

Hours: Monday to Friday, 9am – 5pm, Permanent

Our client, based in Kempston, is seeking a proactive and organised Office Assistant to join their Administration team. This role offers a dynamic mix of responsibilities, from front-desk duties to administrative support in a friendly and supportive environment. Located at a well-established Warehouse and Distribution Centre, this site provides free on-site parking and is conveniently close to local bus routes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Welcome and assist visitors and contractors
  • Manage spreadsheets, schedules, and update reports
  • Handle incoming and outgoing post, deliveries, and collection dockets
  • Operate the switchboard, screen calls, and take messages
  • Monitor daily company-provided lunches and perform kitchen checks
  • Conduct weekly inventory checks and reorder as needed
  • Perform general office tasks: filing, typing, copying, and scanning
  • Serve as a central contact for the Administration and Warehouse teams’ change control tasks
  • Assist with international customs clearance administration

Requirements:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with excellent command of English
  • Proficiency in MS Office, especially Word & Excel
  • Ability to multitask, prioritise, and handle a changing workload effectively
  • Organised with a keen eye for detail
  • Friendly, outgoing, and well-presented
  • Previous experience in a similar role
