We have a contractual FLT Operator role available at DS Smith, with a potential pathway to a permanent position. This role is ideal for someone with strong operational skills who is flexible, experienced, and eager to work both days and nights.
Role: FLT OperatorLocation: South Mills, The Ridgeway, Blunham, Bedford MK44 3PH - DS SmithRate of Pay: £15.40 per hourOvertime Pay:
- OT1: £23.10 (Monday to Thursday at x1.5)
- OT2: £30.80 (Friday to Sunday at x2.0)Contract Length: 3 months rolling, with potential for a permanent positionShift Patterns:
- Monday to Thursday: 06:00 - 16:00 (Occasional extended hours on overtime and Friday work as required)
Responsibilities:
- Safely operate machinery to move materials, achieving productivity and performance targets in quality, waste management, and customer service.
- Perform maintenance and cleaning tasks as per the planned schedule.
- Support and actively engage in continuous improvement initiatives.
- Operate a Counterbalance FLT and undertake occasional Warehouse Operative tasks (manual labor is not a primary component of this role).
Essential Requirements:
- Mandatory External Counterbalance FLT License (internal licenses will not be accepted).
- Flexibility to work nights and experience with shift patterns.
Desirable Requirements:
- Driving license and access to a car.
- Familiarity with warehouse operations.
