I am recruiting Research Manager with economic experience to join a specialist research and economics team of high-calibre analysts which includes former Treasury and Bank of England officials. This team sits within a very well-respected public affairs agency who use your reports to bring their communications a new level of authority and impact.

Description

The role requires meticulous research, strategic thinking and excellent management skills to guide policy development.

  • My client is seeking a Researcher/Economist to support the production of evidence and data-based content for its clients, translating the economics into reports and evidence pieces that are both publicly and politically salient, are media-friendly, and inform and influence political debate across a range of policy issues and trends.
  • In terms of the research production, the candidate needs to be familiar with working with quantitative datasets and statistical analysis, most often from government and industry sources: e.g. ONS industry datasets (public spending, jobs, growth, productivity etc); and also public attitudes polling.
  • Excel proficient and using data and research to construct readable, communications-friendly research outputs: their website for examples of the kind of research they produce.
  • Communication and presentation skills are also vital: able to use the research process and findings to present to and advise clients with; also to produce and present media-friendly content for public audiences and to help create persuasive arguments to policymakers.
  • The candidate will report directly to the Associate Director that heads the economics and research function for my client.

Profile

A successful Research Manager / Economist should have:
