Part Time Payroll OfficerBedford 32-35k paOverview

We are seeking an experienced Part Time Payroll Manager to oversee the end-to-end payroll operations for our large temporary workforce and contingent workers. This is a critical role responsible for managing the weekly payroll across our growing multi-site locations, as well as monthly payroll for our head office.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the full payroll process including time tracking, deductions, tax calculations, and payments for both weekly and monthly payroll cycles.
  • Ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll for all employees and contingent workers.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for payroll-related inquiries from employees and managers.
  • Implement and maintain payroll policies, procedures, and controls to ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
  • Analyse payroll data to identify issues, trends, and opportunities for process improvements.
  • Collaborate closely with the Finance team to reconcile payroll accounts and address any discrepancies.
  • Maintain detailed payroll records and generate required reports for management and regulatory purposes.
  • Lead the ongoing enhancement of payroll systems and technologies to drive efficiency and automation.
  • Provide training and support to managers and employees on payroll-related matters.
Requirements:
  • 3-5 years of experience in a payroll role, preferably in a multi-site or high-volume environment.
  • Strong understanding of payroll regulations, tax requirements, and compliance standards.
  • Proficient in using payroll software and systems to process and manage payroll.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve payroll issues.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in handling sensitive financial information.
  • Effective communication skills to interact with employees, managers, and cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to work autonomously, prioritise tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
Compensation and Benefits:
  • Salary range: £35,000 - £40,000 per annum
